Scrapbooking Canvas for Ovarian Cancer Event

September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. In honor of that, the Arkansas Ovarian Cancer Coalition is hosting an event called Artists for Ovaries on Friday, September 24. What does all that have to do with me? I am one of the artists!
Art from local artists will be auctioned off to raise money for Ovarian Cancer issues in the state of Arkansas. The canvas shown will be one of the pieces available during the silent auction. There will be good food and live music, a pretty swanky affair.

My canvas is titled Strong & Courageous, a phrase that comes from one of my favorite Bible verses, Joshua 1:9. Everyone knows the color for Breast Cancer supporters is pink. Well, teal is the color for Ovarian Cancer. As part of the event, artists were given the option of submitting art work for a Teal Courage contest. The piece must be at least 50% teal in color and be uplifting and inspiring in honor of Ovarian Cancer. So my auction piece is also an entry in that contest. Fingers crossed! I don't even know what the prize is, I am just a sucker for contests.
