The good old days
My niece came over recently and helped me put this layout together. I am trying to get her interested in scrapbooking since my sister and mom refuse to convert. Maybe I can put her to work on some of the back log :-)
They are sweet pictures of days gone by. Days when they were so easily entertained. We had lunch at this park one Saturday. I don't even think they got on any playground equipment. We just sat there, chilling out. They had never heard of a video game. Ah, the good old days.

Love is in the air...still
Ok, so I am almost a week late on this post. I figure its still February so, feel the love anyhow. This is a special layout, mostly because it is one of a few that doesn't include any of the boys. As a matter of fact, my husband and I will have been married nine years this year and I have yet to create one layout from our wedding. Go figure.
In these pictures we are in our first year of marriage. Not a kid in site. I still had my dreadlocks. I did this layout recently as a sort of valentine for the old man and me. We are a very different couple now. It is a little hard to even write a post about this layout because marriage is such a mixed bag. There are good days and bad. I guess if we are lucky we will remember and appreciate the good, and simply learn and move on from the bad. Our goal is to stick it out regardless. The good does always outweigh the bad. I wish I had something more romantic and less "hang in there" but its just like that sometimes. Happy Valentine's Day! :-)

Getting personal
After much thought and consideration, I have decided to expand my blog outside of just my crafts and include more about me and mine. I hate not being able to post more often because I am busy being mom, yet I read the blogs of many other talented women who don’t make a distinction between their lives and their work/hobbies. They are one in the same. So instead of missing a chance to post because I am making life happen around here, I will include those adventures. They are as much a part of me as my art. So there. Be prepared to get personal!
P.S. I'm trying out a new banner style, let me know what you think.

Don't you just love birthdays?
5x5 Birthday Card using the Birthday Extravaganza paper stack from Paper Studios, the Doodlecharm & Storybook Cartridges |
Me too. Just the smell of frosting and freshly blown out candles makes me feel good. They should make a line of birthday scented aroma therapy products. Despite what some divas may believe, getting a year older is the best part. (Cake is definitely a close second.) The American Cancer Society is the official sponsor of birthdays. What does that mean? It means they are fighting a disease to give those living with cancer an opportunity to celebrate another year of life.
While we can't all don lab coats and head to the laboratory in search of a cure, we can give. The Little Rock Scrappers are now taking donations for the 2011 Relay for Life. You can donate whatever you like. A $90 donation ($80 for cancer survivors) will allow you to participate in our Relay for Life Scrapbooking Event on March 11th and 12th.
For two days we will scrapbook, make cards, eat, laugh, and have a good time all for the purpose of giving some one with cancer the chance at one more birthday. Will you join us?
